We are seeking a Buyer Specialist for the company’s Purchasing Department.
The successful candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Economics and Business or in a related degree, and will ideally have at least six years of work experience in a big-pharma and/or multinational setting. The candidate will report directly to the Managing Director, and will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the daily operations of purchasing functions;
  • Respecting, monitoring, and implementing policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility;
  • Ensuring that orders are placed and received in a timely manner and at the correct cost;
  • Monitoring quotes, orders, and order confirmations;
  • Assisting colleagues/teams with the resolution of purchase order discrepancies and, in particular, the scientific team and the Accounts Payable staff;
  • Financial and product data in order to maximize performance generation and reduce company costs;
  • Assisting Managers on specific projects and, in particular, on Master Agreements;
  • Complying with safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, as well as participating in department safety activities;
  • Performing other duties as directed or as necessary in order to ensure daily operations, data analysis, and savings;
  • Processing and optimizing purchasing orders and check deliveries;
  • Maintaining financial and purchasing files and records;
  • Preparing monthly reports and reporting on variances.

A sound knowledge of standard purchasing procedures is required, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

We are seeking an experienced cell biologist to join our Biology Department.
As a key member of IRBM’s Biology team this role will involve directing and delivering on the Company’s internal and external drug discovery objectives.

The successful candidate is expected to have experience in the implementation, maintenance, differentiation and characterization of human stem cells and their differentiation into neuronal cell types. Exposure to genome editing and characterization of mutant human stem cell lines is a definite plus. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the culture, manipulation and differentiation of human stem cells into neurons and the implementation of these neuronal models for functional studies. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for Huntington’s disease leveraging post-translational modifications of Huntingtin protein.

Strong communication skills will be required to enable successful management of both associate and PhD scientists as well as the coordination of external collaborations and CRO’s. This position will suit a highly motivated, innovative and strong team player with experience and a proven track record of advancing drug discovery projects.

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Cell Biology or a related field, with significant post-doctoral experience. Industrial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector is a bonus;

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Biologist to join our group in the Neuroscience Department at IRBM Science Park. This laboratory-based position is within a Team actively engaged in the study of post-translational modifications of proteins associated with neurodegenerative proteinopathies, using state-of-the-art immunoassay methodologies, in collaboration with international partners.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD, post-doctoral experience (preferably in an international context) and a proven background in antibody characterization, immunoassay development and cell and molecular biology methodologies. He/she will have a strong capacity to work to deadlines and according to agreed plans, teamworking ability and a highly results-oriented approach. He/She will be highly motivated towards conducting high quality scientific research using latest generation protein detection platforms, applied to the development of ultra-sensitive assays for the quantification of proteins of relevance to neurodegenerative disorders. Excellent presentation and communication skills and high proficiency in English are also required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Biology (on a subject relevant to the job description) and at least one year post-doctoral experience
  • Extensive hands-on expertise in antibody characterization and protein detection methodologies based on immunoassay platforms

Scientific Equipment Services Specialist

 

Position:

He/she will part of a dynamic team of multi-skilled technical staff and will report directly to the Head of Department.

 

Main duties:

  • Ensuring the correct and consistent implementation of planned/unplanned maintenance programs by managing the personnel involved in carrying out maintenance and calibration and/or by assigning the task to third parties;
  • Managing ordinary and extraordinary maintenance programs;
  • Implementing a preventive maintenance strategy;
  • Collaborating with the Site Services and Safety Department and the Information Technology Department for a cost budgeting analysis aimed to rationalize the maintenance operations and all related procedures in collaboration with Site Services and Safety and IT. Reports of the activities preparation;
  • Carrying out the supervision and verification of the maintenance operations, coordinating the team activities in collaboration with the laboratories’ managers, the IT and Site Services & Safety Departments’ staff as well as ensuring the applicable regulations in force on Quality, Safety, Hygiene and Environmental Protection;
  • Ensuring a correct and consistent supply of the spare parts inventory by considering all budgetary functions and by defining the needs with the laboratories’ managers as well as with the maintenance services’ contractors.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate will be qualified with a Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Scientific Technical Diploma and have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the same role.

He/she will have a strong knowledge in the field of maintenance and repair of the supplied equipment in research laboratories and a technical support experience in research and production laboratories as part of analytical instruments such as HPLC, UPLC and GC.

He/she will have experience as basic user, but also on maintenance of laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, UPLC, gas chromatographs, spectrophotometers, NMR, as well as integrated systems for laboratory automation and analytical instrumentation, support such as scales, centrifuges, incubators, fume hoods, industrial refrigerator (-80).

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency with metrological techniques and the main certifications of tools and equipment;
  • Proficiency with quality systems, in particular GMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485;
  • Good direct intervention capacity on the instrumentation for the installation, setup, calibration and repair ability on both, the hardware and the software of the instrument;
  • Autonomy, precision, ability to synthesize, problem solving, goal-orientation and excellent predisposition to work in team;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
  • Good/excellent level of written and spoken English;
  • Discretion and understanding of confidentiality issues.
