We use high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS, Orbitrap technology) to combine accurate and high sensitivity quantitation of a drug candidate in biological samples and metabolite identification. Pharmacokinetics parameters and metabolite ID data are simultaneously obtained by the same LC-MS run using an optimized LC-MS method for targeted and untargeted detection, providing a reduction of analysis time, resources and animal use. A robust and efficient fully automated workflow is in operation for routine pharmacokinetic studies.
